Before WAIC 2026 Even Opens, Baidu Already Claimed the “Treasure of the Show” with Its Agent “Baidu Dazi”
On July 17, WAIC 2026 — the world’s most influential top-tier gathering in artificial intelligence, hailed by the industry as a “tech weathervane, application showcase, industry accelerator, and governance forum” — will open in Shanghai.
With a few days still to go before the conference, the WAIC organizers have announced the list of “Treasures of the Show” (Zhen Guan Zhi Bao), and among them is Baidu’s general-purpose agent, “Baidu Dazi” (Baidu Dazi).
The reason “Baidu Dazi” made the list: it does more than chat — it actually gets things done. By invoking capabilities such as the Search AI API, Miaoda, and Famou, it decides on its own which tools to call and in what order to execute them. Since launch, its daily questions answered have grown 20-fold, making it the fastest-growing general-purpose agent.
During WAIC, “Baidu Dazi” will host three sharing sessions — covering the personal edition, the enterprise edition, and deep hands-on practice. If you want to find out whether AI can truly be your work partner, these three sessions are worth catching.
Beyond “Baidu Dazi,” Baidu’s full “agent family bucket” will show up in force:
- Miaoda: a no-code agent, with even post-2010s teenagers demoing live on stage.
- Baidu Yijing: a digital human that, following last year’s Luo Yonghao, will once again “take over” another KOL this year.
- Xiaodu AI Butler: a new version that brings agents into the home.
- GenFlow 4.0: with over 100 million monthly active users, it will receive a major 4.0 upgrade.
- Baidu Famou: will demonstrate its capabilities in industrial scenarios such as production scheduling and process optimization, helping enterprises find the optimal path to AI adoption.
No matter how loud the parameters sound, they mean nothing if they cannot land in practice. This time Baidu has brought its full-stack capabilities “from chips to agents” — not to show you slides, but to let you use them with your own hands, with on-site experience. Enter a requirement and AI generates an application, produces content, and completes tasks, so you can clearly and intuitively feel the product’s value and commercial prospects.
Reportedly, during WAIC, IDC will also release a “DAA Research Report.” DAA (Daily Active Agents) was proposed by Baidu at its Create conference earlier — it counts the agents that actually complete tasks in production each day, reflecting AI’s real output better than tokens. The products Baidu is showcasing at WAIC are also the phased results of its internally validated DAA.
For friends who want to become “super individuals” and are looking for an entry point into AI adoption, a full-stack platform like Baidu is arguably the best “leverage” platform — be sure to stop by the Baidu booth at WAIC and learn from what they’ve built.
